les invalides et tower top

Today was an epic sight-seeing day (we like that word).

We hugged adorably pruned tree bushes in front of Les Invalides..

Of various adorable sizes..

We squashed some more impressive objects.

And Bee-lined for Napolean's tomb..

Which was impressive (et gros) for such a modestly measuring megalomaniac (alliteration! We warned you..)

A little late, we found a site map for Les Invalides.

Then we saw many many war blings, things, guns, swords, uniforms, videos, posters (I will spare you the ~200 pictures)

And a rather dour looking (non-mannequin) Bonaparte painting, which we loved.

Then, depending on whether your name was Jenna or Kristina, epic meat was consumed at a local shawarma shop.. or Krista who ventured into strange blue cheese territories (not documented for sensitive pallets)

Finally, we managed to see both the Eiffel tower light show, and get to the top.

The views were all-around sparkly.

We left our mark in the first floor gallery area.

And (beware: LOTR reference) we found the eye of Sauron!

Here it is shown battling Napolean's gold-plated tomb.
