embassy, arcs, gland et moose bar

Happy Canada Day Canada!!

Today, we visited the Canadian embassy and enjoyed some affordable beverages (the Canadian ones sadly were a little less affordable..), and met some fellow Europe-touring Canadians.

On our long(ish) walk to the embassy, we discovered some anatomy-themed pastries?

It was also le plus chaud du monde! So we stopped by the Louvre fountains for some indulgent toe-bathing.

And this Louvre arc foreshadowed one of our tourist stops later in the day..

At the embassy, Kristina was having coffee-related cravings, and we found a cappuccino / cafe au lait / chocolat / mochiatto / everything caffeinated for cheap vending machine. Why not?

Then we saw the Arc du Triomphe! (And squashed it)

To cap off the day, we followed a recommendation to go to the oldest Canadian pub in Parie...

Where, in a lively, homey Canadian bar setting, they served stanley cup whiskey shots and played Alanis Morisette and Bedouin Soundclash. Nostalgia..

  1. Ah, gay Parie – long time, no see... I've also noticed that you can do that thing with thumb and forethinger to the biggest people around, and they don't even notice.
